Annabeth Chase is the deuteragonist of the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. She is the intelligent half-blood daughter of Athena and the love interest of Percy Jackson.

Early History[]
Annabeth Chase is the daughter of the goddess Athena and a mortal man, Frederick Chase. Children of Athena are born from a thought in her mind and then given to a partner she feels connected to. As a baby, Annabeth was sent by her mother as a gift for her father. For a while, she was treated like a gift. Her father cared for her and loved her. However, he eventually met a woman and they had their own kids. And to the woman, Annabeth wasn't a gift, but a problem. So Annabeth left when she was seven.[1]
One day, Annabeth was hiding in an alley and was found by two half-bloods, Luke and Thalia. When Luke and Thalia found Annabeth, Luke cared for her right away. But Thalia made her earn it. The two were worried about taking her in and expose her to the monsters. However, they saw Annabeth fight and they eventually became a family ever since. When the three first arrived at Camp Half-Blood, they were being chased by Agents of Hades; the Furies. To buy her friends some time, Thalia turned back to fight. Grover, her satyr protector tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t listen. So, at the last moment, Zeus; her father, intervened to save her life and changed her form to a magical tree, which Annabeth describes as a hero's fate.[2][1]
At some point, Grover also becomes Annabeth's satyr protector. As the strongest warrior in camp, Annabeth thinks the only way left to prove herself was to go on a quest. Chiron's been promising her for years that one day, a demigod would arrive who was fated to go on a quest that even Chiron couldn't prevent. And when that happened, she could join it. Every new arrival, Annabeth watches, looking for a sign they're the one. However, she gives up after a day or two.[2][1]
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (TV Series)[]
Season One[]
When Percy first gets to camp, Annabeth and the other children gather around him, as he lays there knocked out. However, Chiron tells her to back up and give him space. She later nurses Percy back to health when he is recovering from his fight with the Minotaur and Annabeth starts watching him from afar. After seeing Clarisse take Percy into the bathroom, Annabeth follows and watches as Percy douses Clarisse anda her siblings with toilet water. Percy and Annabeth meet each other; however, he starts to wonder why Annabeth is watching him. Luke later explains that Annabeth always watches the newcomers, hoping they are the ones who will lead her to her dream of going on a quest. However, she is watching Percy longer than anyone before.[3]
During capture the flag, Annabeth made Percy act as the "distraction" for Clarisse's team. She used her invisibility cap and watched as Percy and Clarisse fought. She takes off her cap and Percy gets mad at her for standing by and doing nothing to help him. She later pushes Percy into the lake, and it confirms her suspicions that he is the son of Poseidon[4]

Personality[]
Knowing that she would eventually be tasked with going on missions for the good of people like her, she is surprised to find herself paired up with Percy Jackson, a boy she just meets. As the daughter of Athena, Annabeth is extremely intelligent, having suspected that Percy was Poseidon's son after seeing him douse Clarisse in toilet water. Together, along with the satyr Grover Underwood, they must work together to defeat evil.
Annabeth is a stubborn, yet determined young girl who always feels that she has something to prove. While she can come off as callous, she is actually passionate and loyal to those around her and will fight for her friends. Despite being cold and aloof to Percy when they first meet, Luke assures him that Annabeth has a good heart because he has known her longer than him. She is always five steps ahead of her enemies.

Annabeth is depicted as a young African-American girl, with long braided hair. Her attire seems to consist of a grey shirt, blue button up, a purple coat, dark grey pants, and a necklace.
